Prof. Thomas A. DiPrete, PhD,
is Giddings Professor of Sociology and Co-Director of the Center for the Study of Wealth and Inequality at Columbia University. DiPrete is welcomed as a Visiting Scholar at SFB 882 from May 15th to May 23rd, 2014. DiPrete’s research interests focus on social stratification, demography, education, economic sociology, and quantitative methodology.
DiPrete is very conversant with research in Germany due to previous stays at WZB Berlin Social Science Center, German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin) and Max Planch Institute for Human Development (MPIB) among others. During his visit in Bielefeld, he will give a talk entitled “The Strength of School-to-Work Linkages: A Comparison of Four Countries” at SFB 882 Colloquium.
