Venue
The opening conference of CRC 882 will happen at the Ravensberger Spinnerei in Bielefeld, Germany. The castle-like main building is a former flax mill. These days it accomodates the Bielefeld Volkshochschule (adult education centre). It is located in the midst of the “Ravensberger Park”. In the immediate neighbourhood there are event and cultural sites (museums, cinema, disco).

Journey
By train
Bielefeld is on the Cologne–Berlin rail connection, where there is an ICE train every hour during daytime. From Bielefeld Main Station, the best way of getting to the Ravensberger Spinnerei (main building of Volkshochschule Bielefeld in Ravensberger Park) is by taxi (about 10 min.). As an alternative, the Ravensberger Spinnerei can also be reached by bus. Bus connections and map.
By car
Follow the A2 motorway (Autobahn) in the Bielefeld direction, and leave it at Abfahrt (Way out) No. 27 – Bielefeld Zentrum. Then in Bielefeld, take the B 66 (Detmolder Straße) towards the city centre, after about 6 km turn right into Teutoburger Straße and then stay on it until Heeper Straße, into which you turn to the right. There you will reach “Ravensberger Park” where there is the Ravensberger Spinnerei (main building: Volkshochschule Bielefeld). There are signs for Ravensberger Park (VHS) in the city centre.
